Exploration & Ideation: Work by MCAD Foundations Students

Exploration & Ideation: Work by MCAD Foundations Students

Come celebrate at the opening reception for Exploration and Ideation: Work by MCAD Foundations Students at Homewood Studios on Friday, Mar 8, 6 – 8 pm. Light refreshments provided. MCAD Vans will be leaving from the MCAD Main Gallery at 5:45 pm and 6:45pm (returning at 7pm and 8pm).

The show will run from March 8 – 24.

One of the established goals of the Foundation Studies Program at MCAD is to experiment with concepts, materials, and techniques, to build skill sets in a variety of artmaking processes. All students at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design take the Foundations classes, regardless of their intended area of interest or focus. The expected outcome is to lead students to embrace risk-taking as an essential element of the creative process. This exhibit is a celebration of a selection of student’s work produced in the first semester, 2023, in the Foundation Studies Program at MCAD. Works produced range from 2D to 3D to 4D, with various media and other techniques, showing the tenacity, versatility, and creativity of the student artists.
