As has been true in past versions of this show, artists will have their studios open during these events for up close and personal visits.
One of the agenda items for our August meeting as we began to plan this show, was the name, its title. What would we call this, our 12th annual Homewood Studios Resident Artists Exhibition? During a round-robin of ideas, Laura suggested holding space, remarking on the political atmosphere we were then immersed in and mentioning the fact the election would take place while our new show is up. Several of us resonated right away with the idea, and others chimed in their agreement. So pretty quickly that was the name of the show up in the gallery for November. Each of us has sought to connect the work we have done in the past year to that theme. Individual artist’s statements will help you, our faithful audience members, whether or not we have succeeded.
Resident artist, Jack Mader, has prepared a website link for this show where you will find more images of artists’ work and artist’ statements. Here’s the link: https://holdingspace.myportfolio.com/
