Several interested folks, on a Historic Plymouth Avenue Art, Community and Impact history tour sponsored by MPS Community Education, spent an hour with us recently. The tour coordinator, Katherine Bodger, arranged for the group to visit three sites: the University Research and Community Outreach Center (UROC) gallery, the Minnesota African American Heritage Museum & Gallery, and the Homewood Studios gallery and artists’ studios. The participants, from all around the Twin Cities area, were enthusiastic in their interest and full of questions about the history of Plymouth Avenue, as far back as the early 1900, and quite interested in the role of the arts in shaping and remembering that history.
