MARION ANGELICA: Vessels 2024
MARION ANGELICA: Vessels 2024
Opening Reception — Friday, August 9 from 6pm to 9pm
Gallery Talk — Tuesday, August 20 beginning at 7pm
Vessels like cargo ships are tasked to carry objects across long distances. Carrying things is the task of ceramic vessels also, perhaps across time rather thana distance, but additionally they add beauty to enhance both the items they carry and the activities that close distances between people. They quietly hold the food we share, the drinks with which we toast or the flowers that add beauty to our indoor environments. These vessels join us in our moments of joy, sorrow, laughter and tears, worry and success as we make personal connections around the table or elsewhere.
While in most of the Marion’s shows at Homewood, she shared her sculptural work… illuminated wall pieces or pierced bowls hung like snowflakes in Homewood’s windows. In this current show, it’s all about the table and the vessels we use when we gather to dine or drink or simply share company. See her many new vases, dinner sets, zinnia bowls and more this coming August.
