A Soul Weaver’s Journey: Tressa Sularz
A SOUL WEAVER’S JOURNEY is a retrospective look at 40 years of work made by basket maker and fiber artist Tressa Sularz. The exhibition will show how a traditional basket maker evolved into a sculptor.
Opening Reception – Saturday, April 8 from 12pm to 2pm
Artist Talk and Film Screening – Friday, April 21 from 7pm to 9pm (film at 8pm)
Closing Reception – Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 12pm to 2pm
“I am a fiber artist who uses the ancient techniques of wicker, plaiting, coiling, and twining to make things,” says Tressa. “I weave love into everything I make.”
The exhibition will open at Homewood Studios Gallery with a reception from 12-2pm on Saturday April 8, 2023, and close with a celebration from 12-2pm on Sunday, April 30, 2023. The artist will be present. There will be a brief program at 1pm on both days. In addition, there will be an evening reception from 7-9pm with an artist talk and film screening of the documentary Inner Gold at 8pm on Friday, April 21, 2023.
Tressa Sularz is a fiscal year 2022 recipient of a Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
