Sherry Roberts’s essay, “Censorship and the Caging of America,” features the art of George Roberts as a touchstone for the discussion of the rising censorship in our troubled times.
In “Summer Reading,” George took challenged and/or banned books from the American Library Association’s most challenged book lists and visually locked away their ideas to make a point. “I found the ALA’s list especially repugnant because I felt strongly those books would connect with young people,” said George, a retired high school literature teacher.
